Anthony F. Sbarra, 89, of North Cape May, NJ, formerly of SouthWest Philadelphia, was born in New York, New York, on October 16, 1930, and died peacefully on May 20, 2020.
In 1948 Anthony enlisted in The United States Navy and served as a radioman on several ships during the Korean War.
Anthony joined the Philadelphia Police Department in 1956. During his 25-year career he worked in many departments and positions. During his tenure he attended the FBI National Academy. He retired in 1981 as a Captain of the 18th District.
Captain Sbarra moved to Wildwood, New Jersey, where he began his second career in the Security Department at Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City. He worked there for an additional 15 years before retiring to enjoy the shore life with his family.
Anthony was a devoted husband to his loving wife Emma (Naimoli) of SouthWest Philadelphia, who preceded him in death in 1997. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially at the shore. He is survived by his children, Julie (Joe) Conlan, Emma (Joe) Manzi, Tony (Lu Ann Flacco) Sbarra, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as his brother Walter and many nieces and nephews. Anthony’s siblings Carmine and Theresa Pavone have preceded him in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Tony's family on Saturday October 17th from 10:00 am to 10:50 am at St. John Chrysostom Church, 615 S. Providence Road (Rt. 252) Wallingford, PA 19086. Memorial Mass at 11:00 am
