Br. Kevin Stanton, F.S.C.

Brother Kevin Stanton, F.S.C., age 86, passed away on April 12, 2025. Brother Kevin was the proud son of the late Martin and Mary (nee Nugent) Stanton both Irish Immigrants. Born Martin John Stanton, Marty was raised in Southwest Philadelphia in Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, which he was very proud of. Marty graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys in 1956, where he eventually became principal in 1970 to 1973. At West Catholic, his decision was also made to become a Christian Brother when Brother G. Henry Laffey asked, "What do you want to give your life to?" Marty was also a teacher at West Catholic from 1968 till his appointment as principal. He also served the school from 1991 to 1996. He received his BA in Theology at La Salle University and Master's Degree in Chemistry from Notre Dame. He was an avid reader, especially loving books about Religion, History, or Science and loved to watch sports. Brother Kevin gave 68 wonderful years living the Lasallian mission.

Beloved brother of Kathleen Egan (Jack Egan), Michael Stanton (Anne Stanton), Judy Ahern (Walt Whitehill) and the late Rosemary Kiely (late Robert Kiely). Marty is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews, and 24 grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday, April 21, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:45 am at the De La Salle Chapel on the campus of La Salle University in the basement of College Hall ( click here for a LaSalle University Map ), 1900 W. Olney Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19141.Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm. Please join us on a Facebook live for the Funeral Mass or watch at your convenience on King Funeral Home's Service Facebook page where the video will remain.  Interment on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 11:00 am at De La Salle Cemetery (Ammendale) in Beltsville, MD.

1996 - 2001    Calvert Hall College High School as the Principal

2001 - 2005    Calvert Hall College High School as the President

2005 - 2008    Saint Gabriel's Hall as the Assistant Principal

The District of Eastern North America remember Brother Kevin with memorial liturgies according to the tradition of the Institute. Through their prayers, communities and individuals entrust Brother Kevin to God's loving care.
