Brother Joseph Schmidt, Fsc

Brother Joseph Schmidt, FSC, author, lecturer, spiritual director and counselor died on February 19, 2022 at the age of 87 at De La Salle Hall in Lincroft, NJ. Brother Joseph passed away after suffering a fall in his bedroom. He had been on palliative care for the past week. Born, Henry Joseph Schmidt on June 10, 1934 to the late Henry J. and Estelle (nee Lions) Schmidt. Beloved brother of Rev. Msgr. Francis X. Schmidt and the late Paul Schmidt. Brother Joseph entered the Ammendale MD Novitiate on June 13,1952. He received the Religious Habit and Name Fidelis of Mary on September 7, 1952 and pronounced Perpetual Vows at Ocean Rest in Ocean City NJ on August 17, 1959.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 24, 2022, 7:00pm at De La Salle Chapel on the campus of La Salle University, 1900 W. Interment Saturday February 26, 2022 at 11:00am at the Christian Brothers Cemetery in Beltsville, MD. Luncheon reception to follow interment.
