David P. Courtney

David P. Courtney, aged 55 years, of Rio Grande, NJ, and formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 18, 2021.

David was the son of the late Charles and Helen (nee Tobin) Courtney.

Survivors include his daughter Meghan Courtney; his brothers Charles and Michael (Kelly) and his sisters Helen (Vince) Bakanauskas, Kathleen (Billy) Leitch and Patricia (Michael) Hooker; his neice and five nephews and four great-nephews, as well as his aunt, cousins and friends.

David graduated from West Catholic High School in 1984 and Drexel University in 1988 with a degree in Accounting.

He was a volunteer at Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House, New Jersey.

David was an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, AOH Division 2-Cape May County,

At a family get together, David could be heard singing Danny Boy or any Irish song. David loved to spend time with his family. In the summer, he enjoyed the beach and fishing. He loved to laugh. His smile was huge and his storytelling was fabulous. He was one of the kindest people you would ever meet.

David will be greatly missed.
