Donald Joseph Barrett

Donald Joseph Barrett, age 69, passed away on March 1, 2024 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA.  Don lived in Lincoln University, Chester County and was formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, Beloved husband of Marie Barrett (nee Manson). Devoted and loving father of Matthew Barrett (Lily), Sara Umeroglu (Jason) and Emily Barrett (Rebecca Neikam), and the late Joseph Barrett who passed away in 2020. Also survived by his five grandchildren: Billy, Rain, Violet, Luke, Jessica, his sister Patricia Rudnick and daughter-in-law Jean Barrett. He is predeceased by another sister Annamarie Muglie.

Don was raised in St. Clement Parish in Southwest Philadelphia and attended the St. Clement/St. Irenaeus parish school. He is a 1972 graduate of West Catholic Boys High School. He also attended Hahnemann University Hospital to prepare him as a respiratory therapist at Lankenau Hospital and a Cardiovascular Perfusionist at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Don loved to fish, tinker with automobiles, watch car shows on TV, do yard work on his property, and spend time with his two dogs, Oliver and Sweet Pea. Don was also very handy around the house and currently was in the middle of a large job replacing his floors in the living room, dining room and foyer. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday March 8th from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at St. Barnabas Church, 6300 Buist Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19142. Funeral Mass 11 am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
