Donald J. Kerns

Donald J. Kerns age 84 of Ocean City, NJ went to his eternal rest peacefully on October 16, 2021. Don was born on December 26, 1936 in St. Clair, PA to the late Susan (nee Curry) and James Kerns. He was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys in 1954. He worked for the United States Postal Service his entire career. Don raised his family in St. Pius X Parish in Broomall, PA where he coached youth and American Legion baseball and CYO basketball teams for many years. He was passionate about baseball, especially the New York Yankees and  Notre Dame football. When he retired to Ocean City, NJ he enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and hosting his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his loving wife Gerry (nee Carlin). Devoted father of Linda A. Kerns of Philadelphia, Kevin T. Kerns (Kathryn) of West Chester, and Timothy S. Kerns (Karen) of Gilbertsville, PA.  Loving pop pop of seven grandchildren: Elisabeth, Brian, Mary Grace, Michael, Joseph, Annabel, Laura, and his sister Gloria Zesewitz, nieces nephews and dear friends. Brother of the late Robert Kerns.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday October 22nd from 9:30am to 10:50am at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, PA. Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers donations in Don's memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
