Edward R. Dowd Jr.

Edward R. Dowd, Jr., age 84, passed away on February 16, 2026 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Beloved husband of Ann Marie Dowd (nee Karaszkiewicz). Devoted father of Edward R. Dowd III (Kellie), Daniel J. Dowd (Natalia), and Maria Ann Milnik (Vince). Loving grandfather of Patrick, Sean, Daniel, and David Dowd; Bailey, Kacey, and Vincent J. Milnik, III. Also survived by his sister Grace LaCombe and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Rita Gallen, Bernadette McGarrity, and Theresa Nean. 

Ed was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and was a 1956 graduate of John Bartram High School. He was a machinist for various manufacturing companies over the years. Ed was an avid indoor gardner and reader. He and Ann Marie loved vacationing with Celebrity Cruises.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday February 20, 2026 from 9:30am to 10:20am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100  Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927. Ed's Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am. Interment will be private at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, Mass cards preferred or as Ed would say, "show kindness to others".  

After Mass there will be a funeral luncheon held at the Plumsteadville Inn, 5902 Easton Road, Pipersville, PA 18947. If you have the time everyone is invited.
