Elizabeth "Betty" Ferragino, 93, of Springfield passed away on November 18, 2021. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Betty was the daughter of Anna Marie and Giovanni Trovarelli. She was one of eleven children. In 1950, she married the late Carmen Ferragino and they lived in Glenolden and eventually settled in Havertown.
Betty lived the last eight and a half years in Springfield with her daughter and son in law. Betty loved spending time with her family, going to the casino, word search and especially crossword scratch offs. She worked at Macy's Department Store in Springfield until she retired at the age of 85.
Betty is predeceased by her eight sisters: Vincinci Trovarelli, Josephine (Larry) Buchieri, Antoinette (Rocco) Fortunato, Adeline (Nick) DeStefano, Carmella (Rocco) DiTrolio, Deborah (Joseph) Brancaleone, Olga (Bill) Stevens, Lois (Nick) D'Avanzo and her two brothers Daniel (Josephine) Trovarelli, Luke (Shirley) Trovarelli.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter Debra Lynn (Charles) Battaglia, her granddaughter Alexis Nicole (Paul) Chambers, her grandson Gregory Charles (Marina) Battaglia and her great grandson John Charles Chambers who knew her as "GG". She was aunt to 18 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, December 1 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at King Funeral Service, 209 N. Newtown Street Road (Route 252), Newtown Square, PA 19073. Following visitation, there will be a funeral luncheon held at La Locanda Restuarant in Newtown Square. Interment will be private.
