Gerald R. O'Neill

Gerald "Jerry" O'Neill age 82 of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Southwest Philadelphia and Glenolden. Beloved husband of Jackie Brasch O'Neill (nee Brennan) and the late Mary (nee McCarron). Devoted father of Jerry O'Neill Jr. (Maria), Theresa Woodcock (Rick), Natalie O'Neill (John), Brian O'Neill (Ilkay) and the late Timothy "Timmy" (Chrissy). Grandfather of Les, Rachel, Brendan, Danny, Danielle, Melissa, Corey, Sara, Aidan, Liam and Leyla. Step-father of Ronnie, Bobby (Linda), Mary Ellen (Bob), John (Peggy) and their families. Loving brother to Dennis and Tom and the late Francis, Lou, Anne, Mary and Elaine "Patty".

Jerry was raised in the Fairmount section of the city but was a graduate of South Catholic High School in South Philadelphia. He joined the U. S. Air Force for the next nine years attaining the rank of staff sergeant. After marrying Mary McCarron, together they raised 5 children in Southwest Philly. Jerry became an active member of St. Barnabas Parish eventually becoming President of the CYO. He also was the President of the West Catholic Father's Club and the President of the "Southwest Strutters" of Mummer parade legend. Jerry enjoyed dancing and having a good time with family and friends. He loved his Philly sports teams but his greatest joy was being part of his grandchildren's lives.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation Saturday June 4, 2022 from 8:50am to 9:50am Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Secane, PA 19018. Funeral Mass at 10am with interment to follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
