Gloria O. (Battaglia) Dillon

Gloria O. Dillon (nee Battaglia)  passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022 one week after her 92nd birthday. Mom, Gloria, Grandmom lived her life on her own terms. As a young mother, she suddenly lost her husband in 1970 and was left to raise five children which she did with great strength.

She is predeceased by her husband Jack Dillon, son John Dillon, grandsons John Dillon, Jr. & Joseph Realdine. Also by her lifelong companion Frank Lindinger. Gloria is survived by her children Stephen Dillon, Eileen Realdine, Mark Dillon and Robert Dillon and their spouses along with 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, family & friends.

Gloria was involved with St. Barnabas Parish in Southwest Philly belonging to the CYO, adult choir and helped to establish the school library where she made some lifelong friends. She was an avid bowler, as it gave her an opportunity to get out of the house for a break from us kids. She bowled well into her 80's and we weren't kids anymore. Also Gloria was one of Philly's sports teams biggest fans.

Gloria met Frank Lindinger at a Catholic Social and they became lifelong companions and traveled extensively on many cruises through the years. She was a welcomed member of Frank's family by his children and his siblings.

We all know mom was a great cook, and like great cooks (and Italian) she enjoyed her wine. Mom hosted Thanksgiving dinner for as long as she could and anxiously waited for the next day at the race track for dinner with a martini or a glass of wine, of course.

Gloria's greatest joy was her 5 children, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. She is now in heaven reunited with all her family and friends and is looking down on all of us with her blessings.

Family and friends are invited to her viewing Saturday May 14th from 9:30am to 10:20am at St. Kevin Church, 200 W. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064. Followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
