Hugh E. Foster born on June 15, 1945 to Phyllis Wixson (nee Metzler) and Herman E. Foster. Hugh grew up in Cold Water Michigan with his brother the late Don Cook and sisters Carol Ward (Jim) and Lea Ann McKenzie. He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1963. After high school he went into the Navy where he served his country for 8 years. When the Navy brought him to the Philadelphia Navy Yard in 1968, he met his beloved wife, Patricia Foster (nee Speck). They were married on February 14, 1970 and made Southwest Philadelphia their home for over 50 years. He loved sports and the Philadelphia sports teams. He played basketball, racquetball, and went jogging every morning. He traveled often to Michigan and then Alaska to visit his family. He loved the beach and working on his tan, but most of all he loved his family.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 55 years Patricia Foster, his children Tricia Foster and Christopher Foster (Stephanie). His grandchildren: Chris, Jr., Michael, Xavier, Ashley, Tori, Chase, Colin, and great grandson Azzy.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law that were essentially brothers and sisters to him: George & Jeannie Speck , Rev. Gregory Speck, SCJ, Steve & Alice Speck, Adele & the late Phil D’Elia, Mary & Tom Sullivan, Terry & Rich Curley, Chrissy & Al Gaspari, Kathy Speck, and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, June 27, 2025 10:30 am to 11:45 am at Divine Mercy Church, 6667 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. Hugh's Funeral Mass will follow at12:00 pm. Interment immediately after Mass at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Luncheon at the Oaks Ballroom, 511 W Oak Lane, Glenolden, PA.
