James (Jim) Lannon (72) of Brigantine, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Born and raised in Upper Darby, Jim later made Havertown his home, where he raised his family with his beloved wife, Sue (nee Smyth). A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jim took great pride in his family and the life they built together. Jim worked for SEPTA for many years before retiring and later joining Boyle Brothers Fuel Oil. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to establish his own HVAC business, Seashore Heating and Cooling, where he continued serving the community at the Jersey Shore. Family was at the heart of Jim’s life. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and cheering on the Phillies. He especially loved spending time on his boat in the bay and fishing with his brothers. The stories, laughter, and memories shared on the water will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue; his three sons, James (Deidre), Sean (Emily), and Danny (Deanna); and his six beloved grandchildren, Seamus, Daniel, Declan, Maeve, Nicolette, and Quinn. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobby (Jackie) and Timmy (Mary Ellen); his sister, Mary Hawkins (Bob); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael (Terry), and his sister, Pat (Bill) Cunningham.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Sunday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at King Funeral Service, 209 N. Newtown Street Road (Route 252), Newtown Square. There will also be another visitation the following morning, on Monday, held at Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd, Havertown from 9 am until 9:45 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Jim at 10 am. Interment will be private at a later date.
Jim was truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories he created with them. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to: Bayada Hospice 1201 New Road Suite 138 Linwood, NJ 08221.
