James J. McNelis on February 12, 2019 age 91. Jim retired from the Post Office in 1988 where he worked for many years at 30th Street. Jim was a WWII Navy Vet serving on the USS Independence. A volunteer and resource for many years at the Fireman's Museum on North 2nd Street. Jim was a true renaissance man with his many varied interests and hobbies, but loved spending time with his family and friends. He volunteered for many years at St. Barnabas Parish in Southwest Philadelphia and eventually St. Anastasia Parish. He will be deeply missed by his family, extended families and many friends. Son of the late Joseph and Helen (nee Rodgers). Beloved brother of Joe (Winnie) and Mary Romano. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday 9:30am to 10:45am St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Funeral Mass 11am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Anastasia Church at above address would be appreciated.
