It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jere Haggerty on September 29, 2024, at the age of 73. Jere’s death was unexpected and instantaneous. While we are devastated by our loss, we are relieved that he did not suffer.
Jere died as he lived, with his beloved wife of 38 years, Peg, by his side and surrounded by friends. Up until the end, he was doing the things he loved best: sailing the ocean and having fun with friends.
Jere served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and returned home and spent 40+ years at Craftsmen’s Company where he worked his way up from salesman to proud owner.
Jere’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, Aidan, Margo and Sam. He loved being a Pop-Pop.
Jere is survived by his beloved wife Peg, loving daughters Alison Gebey, Amy Craig; adored grandchildren Aidan Gebey, Margo Gebey, Sam Bostick; siblings Marie Haggerty, Kathy Capriotti (Tony), Billy Haggerty (Eileen) and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the VFW
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jere’s Funeral Mass at 11 am on Friday October 11 at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall. Visitation with his family will begin at 10 am.
