Joseph P. O'Connor

Joseph "Rookie" O'Connor age 68 on August 12, 2020  of Glenolden. Loving son of the late Jeremiah and Anne (nee Kane) O'Connor. Beloved husband of 29 years to Kathryn (nee Stevens). Devoted father of Patrick and Michael (Colleen). Beloved "Poppy Joe" of his granddaughter Kara Grace. Loving brother of Michael (Bettyrene). Uncle of Sean, Adam and Mark. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Joe grew up in Glenolden and attended St. Joseph Parish School in Collingdale and then to Monsignor Bonner High School. He worked for 40 years as a locomotive engineer starting with the Pennsylvania Railroad, then Conrail and eventually CSX. Joe enjoyed going to North Wildwood for vacations and going to occasional parties. But basically enjoyed his home life and doing his own thing.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joe's Funeral Mass at 11 am on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Secane, PA 19018. All who enter church must wear a mask and are asked to maintain the social distancing standards set up in the church. A luncheon, where friends and relatives can gather and socialize, will follow Mass at a local restaurant.
