Kathleen E. Burns

Kathleen E. Burns passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026 surrounded by her family at her bedside. She was the devoted mother of Michael (Amy) Bennett and James Bennett; loving grandmother of Michael, Alicia and Dylan. She is also survived by her sister Dolores Schwarzman, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathleen is pre-deceased by her siblings, Harry Burns, Charlie Burns, Edward Burns, James Burns, Ellen Burns, Alice Burns and Louise DiVento.

Kathy was a real people person and enjoyed working as a telephone operator, senior policy assembly clerk at Reliance Insurance Company and also in housekeeping at the U.S. Customs House.  She adored her time with her grandchildren and family. Kathy tried her luck at buying lottery tickets and usually won when she needed the money most, so she proclaimed. She loved playing games, especially solitaire, and enjoyed watching old TV shows. Murder She Wrote and the Rifleman were two of her favorites. Kathleen will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday July 31, 2026 from 10:15am to 11:15am at Christ The King Church, 3252 Chesterfield Road, Philadelphia, PA 19114. Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Interment to follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Delaware County, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathleen's memory to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
