Margaret Mary Stuempfle

Margaret Mary was the only child of Paul and Frances Stuempfle. She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School. 

She lived a simple, quiet life with her parents in Southwest Philly. She loved the Eagles and Phillies. She managed to save some money each year to get Phillies tickets for some of the games. She enjoyed her TV. Besides her love of Philadelphia Sports, Margaret Mary also enjoyed games, old movies and musicals, game shows, and her "Soaps" (soap operas). She also watched Mass each Sunday.

Living on her own after her parents passed, she had a serious fall and then lived 21 years at Fair Acres Geriatric Center. This was actually a blessing. Margaret Mary started making many friends there. She loved talking to the nurses and staff as well. She loved hearing stories about their families. She went on many shopping trips, went out to lunch, even went on day trips to the shore in the summer and she loved going to Shady Maple in the fall. She belonged to the Book Club and had annual trips out to book stores and then out to lunch. 

Our visits were full of stories. She was never without a story to tell or letting us know when she would be going on her next trip. Margaret Mary will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at 10 am on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at St. George Catholic Church, 22 E. Cooke Avenue,. Glenolden, PA 19036. Following Mass, Margaret Mary will be reunited with her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Margaret Mary's name to St.George Parish would be appreciated.
