Mary Ellen Mayberry

Mary Ellen Mayberry age 74 passed away on February 5, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Catherine E. (nee McGovern) Mayberry. Mary Ellen was a long time resident of Southwest Philadelphia living on the 6300 block of Theodore Street. She attended St. Barnabas School and West Catholic High School for Girls, Class of 1966. While at West Catholic, Mary was a member of the varsity basketball team. Her experiences on the court helped her in coaching the girls team at St. Barnabas School for many years. Mary Ellen was an avid Philadelphia sports fan supporting the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers. Mary Ellen worked at Westinghouse until they moved the company and then she continued her working career at Fed EX until her retirement.

Mary Ellen is survived by her siblings, Robert E. Mayberry III (Mary), Suzanne Castelluccio (John), John Mayberry (Carol), Thomas Mayberry and the late Catherine "Cass" Rafter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday February 9th from 10:00am until 10:50am at SS. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382. Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Funeral Mass will be live streamed from SS. Simon & Jude's Facebook page . Interment to follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA
