Patricia “Patty” Murphy, 66, of Media, Pennsylvania, formerly of the Bishop Hills Apartments in Secane, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. Patty leaves behind a legacy of strength and endurance.

Born on May 20, 1959, in Philadelphia, Patty was the youngest daughter of Elizabeth “Betty” and William Murphy. Patty was born at Doctor’s Hospital in Philadelphia and was quickly transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in the Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia, where she was baptized and went on to receive lifesaving medical procedures which saved her life.

Patricia attended school at Saint Clements elementary school in Southwest Philadelphia and then was enrolled at St. Katherine’s Day School in Wynnewood, PA, where she was very happy and learned many of life skills and attained many years of perfect attendance.

Patty worked at several jobs after leaving St. Katherine’s Day School and ultimately spent most of her working years at the Acme Markets celebrating over 25 years of service at the time of her retirement due to declining mobility. Patty enjoyed many happy years of independence at the job she loved and living in her own residence at nearby Bishop Hill Apartments, where she was blessed to have a “guardian angel” in her kind and compassionate neighbor, Beverly.

Patty is survived by her brother, Philip (Barbara) Correll; sisters, Margaret (William) Lopez, and Kathleen (Roger) Elias; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her sister Maureen (James) Youngkin, and her parents.

A celebration of Patty’s life will be held at a later date in the month of June. Family and friends will be notified of the details closer to that time.
