Soon Chol Lee passed away suddenly on April 27, 2022 in her home at the young age of 74. Soon was a youthful, spirited, life loving woman whose presence will be missed greatly. Soon was born in Seoul, South Korea on March 8, 1948 where she lived until around the age of 18. After arriving to the United States in Baltimore, she traveled to Los Angeles where she started her new life. Soon welcomed into this new life her beloved daughters, Carol Lee in 1973 and Susy Lee in 1974. She also had a long career working for the California Transportation Department. After retiring, she moved to Pennsylvania to live with Carol Lee and son-in-law, Sebastian Mitchell, to help raise their daughter, Madeline. Soon was so proud of Madeline and the young woman she is becoming. Soon loved every minute of being involved in Madeline’s life and was there for every important milestone, especially the most recent, being accepted into college. Soon lived life to the fullest and was a happy soul who greeted everyone she met. She always had a crafting project going – whether crocheting, sewing, or doing jewel work. She loved playing pickle ball at the Main Line Y, exercising, dancing, and especially shopping and traveling. Her innocent and funny personality and unconditional love for her family makes her unexpected and early death so much harder.
Soon is survived by her two cherished daughters: Carol Lee Mitchell (of Pennsylvania) and Susy Lee Acosta (of California), her loving sons-in-law Sebastian Mitchell and Edward Acosta, her beloved granddaughter Madeline Mitchell, her brother Sang Chol Lee (of California), and her sister Jin Chol Dahn (of California).
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation and to visit with Soon’s family on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at King Funeral Service, 209 N. Newtown Street Road, Newtown Square from 10 am until noon.
