William L. Sladek, Jr.

Emblem

Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Mentor, and Friend

Born and raised in the close-knit community of Southwest Philadelphia, Bill lived a life rooted in faith, family, and friendship. His journey was one of purpose, integrity, and unwavering love for those around him.

A proud graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys and Temple University, he pursued a lifelong career in engineering, beginning as an apprentice at the Budd Company, following in the footsteps of his father. His passion for the field led him to become a guiding force for others, notably serving as the inaugural president of the Temple Engineering Alumni Association, where he mentored countless students and young professionals. Bill was also a proud veteran of the US Army and Reserves, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant.

Later in life, he contributed significantly to D3 and IEM companies, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and excellence in engineering. Yet, His proudest accomplishments were not found in titles or accolades, but in the lives of his beloved children-Bill and Patsy-and their families.

He was a man of deep prayer and devotion, especially for his cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Gaitley and Ethan. His love for them was boundless, and his prayers for their happiness and success were constant.

Fond memories will help us grieve and celebrate his life: trips to Seaside Heights, NJ, boardwalk memories, the legendary train parties filled with laughter and camaraderie, the peaceful trips to Gettysburg, and the countless moments spent with his beloved wife, Patricia, whose love was his anchor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (nee McGee); his son Bill Sladek and his wife Erin, their children Gaitley and Ethan; his daughter Patsy Coppola and her husband Michael, their son Matthew and fiancée Karly Amandeo; and his sister Doris Leedecke and her husband Bill and their children.

His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he nurtured, and the friendships he cherished. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
