Obituary

James T. Keaveney Sr. age 77 entered eternal life on January 25, 2023. He was the devoted father of James Thomas Jr. and Jennifer Marie. Jim was born in Philadelphia to Vincent “Dutch” and Mary (Toner) Keaveney, and was one of six boys. Jim is predeceased in death by brothers Gerard and Thomas, and survived by brothers William, Robert, and Kevin. Jim is also survived by his Aunt Anne Toner and many nieces and nephews.

Drafted into the Army at 18, Jim served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He was a defender of the underdog both on and off the battlefield. Jim was known for his kind heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was the life of the party, and always ready for a good time. Jim was a lover of dogs and one of his favorite past times was spending time with his buddy Blaze and his little love Luna.

Per his request, there will be no service. To honor Jim’s life, his children have decided to have a “celebration of life” party sometime in the spring. Per the family request, please don't send flowers or plant a tree, instead, please give to a Veteran's Organization who will use the donation to support the men and women who sacrificed their life for their country. Donating to VA Medical Centers, like the one Jim was taken care of, or the Wounded Warrior Project, would be so much more appreciated. Thank you.
