Nancy Sinclair Obituary

Nancy (nee McCoy) Sinclair passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday morning, October 17, 2020 at the age of 90. Nancy lived life to the fullest and did her best to not miss anything in her beloved children and grandchildrens' lives. She was the daughter of Edward and Marie (nee Tieman) McCoy. Nancy was the oldest of nine children. A little known fact about her is that her given name was Marie Ann. She met the love of her life, Jay Sinclair, at a local dance and she was married by the age of 19 in August of 1949.  They were married for 55 years before her beloved Jay passed away suddenly in 2005. Together they raised 11 children, first in Southwest Philadelphia and then East Lansdowne. Nancy took her role as wife and mother very seriously and kept an immaculate house, while keeping the children properly dressed and pressed. She became a proud grandmother at the young age of 44 while her youngest child was only 5 years old. Her claim to fame is the long legacy she and Jay have left behind: 44 grandchildren and 45 and counting great-grandchildren. She knew every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always remembering birthdays and trying to celebrate every milestone they achieved. She was proud of them all and cherished time spent with them. Nancy was blessed to have a sharp memory through all her 90 years. She was beautiful, well dressed, well manicured and took pride in her appearance. She loved to shop with all her daughters, have her nails and hair done, go out to lunch with her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends, have quiet time in Eucharistic Adoration, loved dancing at all of her grandchildren's weddings, including just this past August, and spent much time talking on the phone to all her family who loved her so. She was able to give her entire family one more gift this past week. After suffering a hemorrhagic stroke a week before her death, she came home in hospice care on Monday night. Her strength and God's grace allowed almost every member of her family to come say goodbye and "I love you" before her passing. Another gift was her being able to communicate to her family that her beloved husband, Jay, and her grandson, John, were coming to her, beckoning her to come with them. How blessed to know her homecoming was full of as much love as she was leaving here on earth.

Nancy is predeceased by her loving husband H. Jay Sinclair. She is survived by her beloved 11 children: Tom (Denise), Jay (Anne), Ed (Donna), Bob (Barbara), Teri (Chris) O'Brien, Dennis (Ida Mae), Nancy (Jim) Kelleher, Diane (Chris) Cusick, Marie (Tom) Lyons, Beth (Jim) Barrett and Peggy (John) Candelori. Nancy was a loving grandmother to 44 grandchildren, four whom pre-deceased her: John Candelori, Jr., and babies Christy Lynn, Elizabeth and Eddie Sinclair, and 45 great grandchildren. She was a beloved sister of Margie Blatcher, Joe McCoy, Frank McCoy, Mary Hermanson, John McCoy and the late Ed McCoy, Joanie Maher and baby Tommy McCoy.
